Overview
The Chronicler note builder is comprised of a series of steps (presentation, symptoms, etc.), which you’ll move through as you compose your notes. While most steps are static, you can choose to hide certain steps to help make your progress notes even faster.
In this article, we’ll cover which steps can be hidden, explain why we only allow you to hide certain steps, and walk through how to show or hide a step.
Which steps can be hidden
Chronicler currently allows you to show or hide the following steps, based on your needs:
Identifying Information
This step is used to document details that identify the client and the session (e.g. Date of session, client name, etc.). If you use an E.H.R. or management system that already stores those details, you may not need this step.
Telehealth
There has been an enormous increase in the need for Telehealth services over the past few years. The statements in this step allow you to accurately answer the question, “Is your client suitable for telehealth?”
This step is enabled by default, but can be disabled if you do not offer Telehealth services.
Administration
This step is most often applicable when working with a new client in the beginning stage of therapy. The statements in this step allow you to accurately answer the question, “Which practice policies did you review with the client?”
This step is enabled by default, but can be disabled if desired.
Modalities
This step can be useful if you need to specifically identify the modalities that were used in the session. For many use cases, detailing the interventions that were performed is sufficient, which is why this step is optional.
This step is enabled by default, but can be disabled if desired.
Why can’t I hide other steps?
We designed Chronicler to produce thorough, accurate notes that will meet or exceed the progress note requirements laid out by insurance providers. As such, many steps are “set in stone” to ensure that your notes always acheive a high standard of quality.
We may make adjustments in the future as legal requirements and best practices change. Your feedback is invaluable, so please let us know if you’d like to disable a certain step, or steps.
